Until their voices break of course. Boy choristers voices reach their peak just before they break. Girl's singing voices take much longer to reach their peak. Probably in their mid twenties. Faryl has been professsionally trained since the age of seven and will need at least another eight years training to produce anything like her best. She will not sing those highest notes until she is older, to do so would risk damaging her voice. She is being taught very wisely.

Well, I suppose her voice is not bad, but the darkened sound is 100% fake (made by pushing the larynx down with the tongue etc). I hope she gets a decent singing teacher soon, because this is just not healthy. But I think the natural raw material is good.
It's really sad though that poorly trained "opera singers" like her and Paul Potts can advance in shows like this because of the ignorance of the audience and the judges. (Not that I don't like what she does, but it's just too raw right now.)

boy singers can sing it better at that age and can REACH THE FINAL HIGH NOTE that she did not sing, that should have been a high e, or f, the boys do high g, high a, even high b or even high c's at that age. AND ITS VERY COMMON.

Who cares if you think her technical performance was all over the place. As if virtually any of the ppl who commented here give a crap or even understand what your critiquing her for. If showing off these days means being cringingly pretentious, stop doing it. You sound stupid.
She sounds great. And if she needs some technical training then that will obviously come with age.

Well I wouldnt say she has perfect teeth... she obviously is going to need braces. Some of the teeth that are there are a tad crooked as well as the ones coming out, they arent nicely aligned. She's only 12, lots of time to correct any dental problems she might have so it's ok.
Anyway, who cares about the teeth, she's absolutely amazing.

i love the song.. im not a huge opera fan. but i do enjoy the more subtle classical opera like this. its a lot more relaxing.. thanks for sharing the video..

im not a huge opera fan. but this song is just amazing.. gives me goosebumps everytime i listen to it.. this young woman has a lot of talent. she will no doubt go far. she has already acomplished so much in her early years good luck to her.. great stuff..

There is a covered sound in her voice whether teachers have said so or not. There is a bright ping to her voice on her top register that does not match her lower register. The reason for this is because she covers. Teachers probably havn't said anything about it because most teachers consider covering okay. The thing about covering though is that it can ruin a voice. Most younger singers who sing in this fashion tend to have this problem because they are making young vocal chords into older ones
