There weren't intentions of any sort, though. They had a concert to do and a voice to fill. What happened was natural. Gilmore was a natural and fit the sound perfectly. It morphed into the PF we know today, with Gimore as a part of its base.

Yeah, Gilmour's a gr8 guitarist. But ya Roger's a gr8 bassist. He's so original, I mean i hav 2 admit his basslines are pretty 'simple' (in an awesome way). I mean I learnt Another Brick In The Wall under 5 mins. Simple, but sounds fucking gr8. Dats wat makes him a gr8 bassist, knows how 2 compose gr8 stuff wid simplicity. Also, da stuff he writes is jus amazing. Gr8 concepts.
Gilmour's also written some gr8 songs, but nothing compared 2 Roger. Learning To Fly is good though :D.

Gimour was brought in to perform live, which the band felt Syd wasn't capable of doing, around a Saucerful of Secrets. When Syd left Gilmour did then sort of replace him, but no-one ever intended Gilmour to be a proper member.

strange... this audio belongs to a different the wall concert, this video footage is edited to fit what roger sayes in the beginning, look very closely and u will notice... they rarely improvised this concert series so the rest looks normal. if u dont know what im talking bout watch this:

Well no actually Gilmour din't necessarily replace Syd. Coz ya he was alredy part of Pink Floyd. I mean there's a pic wid em circa 1967 where there wer 6 members (Gilmour & Syd Barret included).
N yeah, actulaly Waters did a lot of writing on those 2 albums as well. In fact, he did more than Gilmour. There are even songs composed solely through Waters, however all of the songs Gilmour composed weren't by himself. So yeah... we wud still hav those albums although dey cudve been diff.

Its not a hard song on guitar, i know it perfectly by heart. Any guitarists should look up the tab and learn it, its a good song to learn.
