I think that was scripted. The camera itself wasn't busted.

If you love Arcade Fire check out The Glass Plastiks. They both ROCK!

Yep, they're pretty much the exact same song... if you only listen to the first few lines of the song that happen to have a similar amount of syllables. I'd be willing to bet that Arcade Fire has heard "on the dark side," but the meat of the songs differs quite a bit. At any rate, if you're really upset about bands that borrow from other bands, you might as well just stop listening to new music. Its nearly impossible to build a totally unique sound, as everyone is influenced by what they hear

I can see what mariomichel was on about. This song does sound like a less chessy version of Eddie And The Cruisers - On The Dark Side...well at least the melody does. It just goes to show that good artists steal; as the saying goes.

Oh yes indeed!
September 12th, 2008 | 01:33:57
wow that was amazing
September 12th, 2008 | 01:56:56
Yes, i can see the resemblance
with the completely different lyrics, guitar, bass and piano; as well as the lack of violin and brass instruments.
Making a comparison to an old (not to mention fictional) 1980's band just because you really like them is pretty pathetic. They sound almost nothing alike (other than a little on song structure). This band has done well and sound brilliant with every song they WRITE (all by themselves!)

Its a mandolin. and where did you hear that? no.
September 12th, 2008 | 02:42:54
