Despite that, 14 years ago, this game rocked! Everyone who came over to my place loved it.

I bought "Station Invasion " on the 3DO a few weeks ago and thats very much like Twisted as well, infact it had a lot of the same team make it.

Looks fun, but a 3DO is literately out of my reach, not due to price, so emulation is my only option. How dow I get this in this way?

NINA:
All these early FMV games shared the same crappy cut & paste look, with amateur actors chromakeyed onto obvious clipart and stock photos. The Jaguar was notorious for this as well. The look is indicative of a rushed development process.

It's a shame that FMV games are pretty much dead nowadays. They're still a laugh.

No, they were all different "actors". Cheesy, yes... but Zhadnost had a little more "polish", but the games weren't nearly as fun. I was always hoping for a gameshow-game akin to Twisted/Zhadnost. The closest has really only been the "You Don't Know Jack" series on the PC. Whacked! was similar only in respect that it was a gameshow-like format, but it was more of mini action games than Twisted's little brain teasers.

Interesting, I loved Twisted for the 3DO, just a great vibe about all of it. Do you know if they had any of the same actors as well? These FMV games often used staff from the developers/publishers rather than "proper" actors. I also wonder if Microsoft were going for the same vibe with Whacked! as presentation wise they were very similar.

Not TECHNICALLY, but a lot of the same people who worked on Twisted also worked on Zhadnost. I remember back in '95, I think it was... I wrote them a letter asking about their situation & upcoming games, and they responded with the "sequal" of Zhadnost. If it's not a sequal, it's a hell of a coincidence to have 2 full-motion game-show games on one system! (make that 3, if you want to count the laughable station invasion).

Zhadnost was a sequel???

Conway:
Twisted was definately a sweet game. I didn't like how any controller can control any player in the game 'cause sometimes my friend would hit the button for me when I chose the game. Zhadnost corrected that. Both games rocked & nothing has ever come close since in terms of gameshow-like games (except You Don't Know Jack series).

Leopoldine:
Twisted was indeed an AWESOME party game. Never understood why EA never ported it to the PSX, they ported all their other 3DO games, including NFS. Could've easily been Playstation's Mario Party.

Rutledge:
That's awesome. I was one of the suckers who got the 3DO & Twisted was one of my absolutely favorite games (along with the sequal Zhadnost)... I never knew they did a Japanese voice-over for the Jap version... quite interesting!
