    7 minutes of some amazing Martial Arts by my friends in Kerala, South India. It's from a very, very rough video - remember those? filmed by one camera at a time, so picture quality is rough. But you should be able to geta feel for the martial art form itself.

    Whether these were better than Pankration or Roman arts cannot be said and is for the experts to Judge. Kalari itself has been mentioned in ancient Tamil texts related to Kings of antiquity around 500 BC or before. So Alexander who invaded Afghanistan and Pakistan(at that time India) around 300 BC could not have influenced Kalari. Hopefully, this time, the point would have been understood and people will eschew personal comments and focus on understanding... (end)

Indian martial arts stretch back to 2500 BC or older.. There is mention of lost martial arts and also unarmed combat. (Contd..)

    Pankration exists only in lore. There is no record of the art and people are trying to copy it from pottery etc. But it looks like MMA! So, alexander and the ancient greeks knew pankration? big deal! everyone has a "story" on super ancient martial arts..
